FLASH-DRY: 

 

FlashDry™ fabric is a creative technology that balances the moisture from the skin and fast-speed drying.

FlashDry™ enables the user to stay drier, offers more comfort for outdoor activities under a wide range

of weather conditions and environments. FlashDry™ technology can use different elements:

FIBRE TECHNOLOGY, THERMAL TECHNOLOGY and LAMINATE TECHNOLOGY. â€‹

TNF APEX: 

​

TNF™ Apex is a signature material that has been developed exclusively by The North Face®. It offers a tightly woven

abrasive surface for better protection, and a soft interior for comfortable wearing. TNF™ Apex is also treated

with Durable Water Resistant (DWR) system especially for weather resistance and breathability. Garments under

this technology are warm and keep dry in a thick moisture or light rain environment.

TKA:

 

TKA Fleece are proprietary fabrics created by The North Face® with an insulation layer and wear-resistance.

There are three different weights of TKA fleece offered (TKA 100/200/300).

GOOSE DOWN FILL:

 

Using highest quality goose down in the products, The North Face® tests three stages of production for

The North Face® partners with GORE-TEX® and various professional industry experts such as HYVENT®, PRIMALOFT®, POLARTEC® and Windstopper®.

 

GORE-TEX® fabrics are well known in the industry in providing durable waterproofs and breathable protection. HyVent® and other technology outputs have all been tested in the lab, to ensure the best possible durability and function, the highest performance waterproofs and breathable weather protection to fit different outdoor conditions.​

As Hong Kong is a part of China, they are in Asia. However, the two web pages are different, especially in the category of technology. 

 

If you click the "INNOVATION" column on Hong Kong's page (Right), all the technology details and skills are shown with full descriptions. By contrast, although there is a "Technology" section on China's web page (Top left), it shows garments made with relevant technology only (Bottom left). For instance, it shows GORE-TEX® jackets but without any description of GORE-TEX®.

 

Based on the rapidly growing economy, Chinese consumers are more concerned about the quality of the products. Consumers' tastes and behaviour are different from the past and they are willing to pay more for quality and premium goods. Pricing is a sensitive issue, Chinese shoppers believe a higher price is equal to a better quality or higher status. Moreover, based on the product safety problems, Chinese consumers generally favour foreign brands. Poor supervision by the Chinese government has caused shoppers to have a lack of confidence in buying domestic products. Therefore, detailed information with advanced technology issues may enhance Chinese consumers' interests and awareness.
